Reports to:  Marcel Coppolino, Susan Jardine

Location: Flexible

Schedule/Hours: 32- 40hrs/wk, no overtime anticipated

Starting Salary:  $15/hour

 Travel: TBD

 

 

Position Summary:  American Conservation Experience (ACE), a nonprofit Conservation Corps based in Flagstaff, Arizona, is seeking ONE Alumni Outreach and Media Coordinator (AO&M Coordinator) interested in dedicating one year to assisting in marketing, member outreach, and alumni engagement initiatives that will support our organization and our mission.

 

The Alumni Outreach and Media Coordinator will work to help develop and pilot the ACE Alumni Ambassador network, and assist with the production of media content and external communications for ACE social media and marketing. The AO&M Coordinator will work on social media and marketing, and learn ACE systems and communication standards. The AO&M Coordinator would also work with staff to nominate or select an Ambassador. The AO&M Coordinator may engage in-person with divisional staff and assist with in-person recruitment initiatives throughout the year, as circumstances allow.

 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  •        Work with ACE staff to create the Alumni Ambassador Program through identifying and interviewing potential Ambassadors 
  •        Mentorship and oversight of Alumni Ambassadors including targeted training events
  •        Schedule and host ambassador network team meetings
  •        Draw from Divisions and ambassadors' relevant alumni content
  •        Publishing social media content on a weekly basis to all ACE social platforms
  •        Adhere to ACE safety policies and procedures. 
  •        Foster a culture and environment that positions ACE for success and ensures that ACE is the program of choice for partners, members and staff.
  •        Maintenance of ACE provided materials included cell phones, computers, etc.
  •        Responsibilities and tasks outlined are not exhaustive and may change as determined by ACE.

 

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  •        Minimum of 3 months' experience as an ACE crew or EPIC member
  •        Experience and competency with marketing strategies, social media engagement, outreach and coordination
  •        Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software, Google Suite
  •        Social Media competency across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Linkedin
  •        Enthusiasm for the mission of ACE and experience of our members and alumni
  •        Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports
  •        Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  •        Proven ability to track details and organize while working remotely
  •        Ability and motivation to perform multiple and variable tasks concurrently
  •        Professional verbal and written communication skills
  •        Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines while work remotely
  •        Proven ability to work independently and be a positive, contributing member of a group
  •        Ability to adapt to surrounding work environment with conditions that can change frequently
  •        Must be able to legally work in the US
  •        Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record; comfortable driving ACE/agency vehicles as needed
  •        Ability to pass a federal criminal background check
  •        Willing to abide by ACE's Drug Free workplace policies. ACE reserves the right to drug test at any time

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  •        6+ Months as an ACE crew or EPIC member preferred
  •        Bachelor's Degree in Communication or other relevant field
  •        Experience with event planning and coordination
  •        Proficiency with media software including LucidPress and Prezi and Wordpress
  •        Demonstrated interest and experience with outreach, promotion, and environmental stewardship and advocacy

Physical Demands, Work Environment and Working Conditions 

  • Physical Demands: Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard/mouse and other office equipment. Sitting, standing, typing, and using a computer and phone for extended periods of time.
  • Vision Requirements: Requires close, distance, peripheral and depth perception vision as well as the ability to focus.
  • Environmental: Duty station is flexible, candidates may select their own work environment that will allow them to complete job duties comfortably and efficiently.
  • Noise Environment: May vary based on candidates' selection of remote work location.
  • Travel: This position may require limited domestic travel as circumstances allow.
