Job Title: Logistics Coordinator - Sierra Region
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Required Duties and Responsibilities:
The ACE CA-Sierra Region is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Logistics Coordinator to ensure our crews are prepared for excellence on our projects. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicles, tools and equipment required for our crews are in excellent condition as well as being responsible for food shopping for our crews and processing each crews' post-project paperwork. A high level to detail as well as excellent organizational skills are mandatory for success in this position. This position is seasonal and runs from late April to early November.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and hours are varied but will typically include:
Management of Food Provisions:
- Prepare recipes and ingredient lists for each ACE CA crew departing for project.
- Purchase food within budget parameters for ACE CA crews and organize food in dry boxes and coolers.
- Develop and manage safe, OSHA compatible storage protocols of non-perishable food and cookset items in a clean and organized manner.
- Track food purchase costs, waste, and member satisfaction with meals, broken down by crew, duration, and crew size.
- Oversee operation of sorting left over food as it returns from project, ensuring that non-perishables are restocked and coolers are clean, hygienic, and maintained.
- Track local sales and stock pile sale items in bulk where applicable.
- Regular communication with Region Director, Project Managers, and Crew Leaders to learn of weekly shopping needs for crews.
Vehicles, Trailers and Facilities Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of vehicles. Help solicit information from crew leaders regarding any maintenance that may be needed or items that are missing
- Assist Region Director with the purchase of new vehicles/trailers
- Develop and maintain relationships with local repair shops to ensure that work is accomplished with quality and cost effectiveness as priorities.
- Assist Crew Leaders and Project Managers with vehicle maintenance and upkeep of vehicle logs.
- Assist with keeping our staff housing, warehouse and office facilities clean and tidy.
Project Supplies and Logistics:
- Oversee the operation and organization of our warehouse where all our project tools and equipment is stored. Keep facility clean and organized.
- Keep inventory of tools and equipment
- Oversee the acquisition of new tools and equipment.
- Oversee tool maintenance and ensure crews have tools in excellent condition before taking them in the field
- Assist Crew leaders and Project Managers in preparing crews for projects.
- Maintain stocks of personal protective equipment, gloves, hardhats, glasses and earplugs
- Organize a storage system for first aid supplies and then maintain a stock of all first aid items so that the Crew Leaders can refill their first aid kits.
- Maintain stocks of cleaning supplies for vehicles
- Develop and implement protocols to manage inventory and repair of ACE tents and uniforms.
- Meet crews when they return from projects and ensure tools and equipment are returned to the appropriate places
Administration
- Collect all post-project paperwork and ensure it is processed and deliver to the proper recipients.
- Assist Project Managers and crew leaders with uploading photos and GPS data
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The Logistics Coordinator must have the following qualities:

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with corps members, colleagues, the general public
- Able to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Capable of understanding and following ACE systems and processes.
- Good numeracy, computer, and written skills.
- Knowledgeable about general vehicle maintenance and tool repair
- Experience of environmental conservation skills, basic environmental education, and outdoor living/camping skills are not essential, but preferred.

- Must maintain a positive, constructive work environment conducive to team dynamics.
- Must be flexible and possess a high work ethic.
- Must be able to create and maintain budgets and be fiscally prudent
- Must maintain timely, effective communication with crew, partners, and supervisors.
- Must enforce the use of appropriate safety procedures in all tasks.
- Must maintain physical health, including a drug-free lifestyle.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must submit to a criminal background check prior to hire. Persons convicted of a felony are not eligible for appointment to this classification.
Compensation: $14 - 17, hourly
